Turbo+/LH 2.4.x/EZ-116K/ pinout and modifications
EZ-116K-Mod:
Let's have a look at a modification which can change the statical ignition timing on part load.
The EZ-116K has two so called 'selector pins' (pin 18 and 19). By grounding these pins you will be able to modify the statical ignition timing - this means, that you will get a modified timing on part load. At cranking and full load at higher rpm's the timing will switch back automatically to stock values. Also it's not possible to switch the timing just in time - this means, the timing must be set before cranking.
And here is this EZK-mod (choose one mode or make it switchable):
-6° retarded (connect pin 19 with pin 20)
-3° retarded (connect pin 18 with pin 20)
0° default (nothing to do)
+3° advanced (connect pin 18+19 with pin 20)

It's possible to extend your EZK with a EPROM-Board. I have done this mod to a turbo EZK-148 and to a n/a EZK-175, both are acting in the same way after chipping (i have chipped them with the stock '219' eprom from the Goldbox and with my optimized EZK chip). After that it's possible to use the chipped n/a-EZK at a B230 turbo engine.

Knock-Controlled fuel enrichment:
On receiving a signal from the knock sensor and having established that knock is present in all cylinders, the EZK-Unit connects a terminal on the fuel injection system unit to ground, causing the ECU to extend the injector opening period.
This function is activated only within a certain speed and load range, in addition to which a certain average knock-controlled retardation must already bave been applied in all cylinders. The following conditions are required:
- EZ-116K: retardation of at least 3-4 degrees in all cyl. in response to knock detector signals at engine speeds above 3800rpm and above a certain min. load.
- EZ-117K: (B230FT only) 6 degrees in all cylinders in response to knock detector signals.
